Mr. Gutierrez has been employed by Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. since 1973, becoming a director in 1979 and Chief Executive Officer in 1981. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Floors To Go. He has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the World Floor Covering Association. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Floor Covering Industry Foundation. In April 2007, he was inducted into the World Floor Covering Association Flooring Industry Hall of Fame.

Mrs. Kim Gutierrez joined Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. in 1987 holding the position of Contract Sales Manager. In 1989 she was promoted to Director of Meetings & Conventions, in 2016 promoted to Vice President of Meetings & Conventions and in 2021 she was promoted to Executive Vice President of Meetings & Conventions. She holds the same position with Floors To Go, in which she has served since June of 2002.

Prior to joining Abbey, Mrs. Gutierrez held various positions within the global executive travel and tourism industry.








Bill Wilson - Vice President of Marketing

Mr. Wilson joined Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. in October 1999 as Marketing Manager and has since held several key leadership roles within the organization, including Director of Marketing, Vice President of Marketing, and Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer.

In his role as COO, Bill oversees the day-to-day operations at the company’s corporate headquarters and leads the Marketing Services division. He plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence across both of Abbey’s franchise brands—Abbey Carpet & Floor and Floors To Go.

Before joining Abbey Carpet Co., Mr. Wilson held positions as Marketing Manager and Art Director for a master-planned community developer with projects throughout Florida, where he gained valuable experience in real estate development, branding, communications and promotional marketing. 
Susan Butler - Controller

Ms. Butler joined Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. and Floors To Go in April 2024 as Controller and quickly proved herself as a vital part of the financial leadership team. In recognition of her contributions and expertise, she was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in April 2025.

As CFO, Susan oversees the financial strategy of the company, bringing a strong focus on fiscal responsibility, performance analysis, and long-term growth planning.

Prior to joining Abbey Carpet Co., Inc., Ms. Butler served as Chief Financial Officer for a precast concrete manufacturing company based in Connecticut. After relocating to Florida, she brought with her a wealth of experience gained from holding multiple leadership roles in both family-owned businesses and Fortune 500 companies across the United States.
 
Steven Mintz - Vice President of Franchise Development

Mr. Mintz joined Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. in November of 1998.

His position is VP of Franchise Development, for both Abbey Carpet & Floor and Floors To Go. Steve’s role includes finding new Members and working to assist current Members.

Prior to joining Abbey, he was on the manufacturing side of the flooring industry, first as a Manufacturer Rep for carpet in the Washington DC / Baltimore area from 1972 to 1980.

From 1980 through November of 1998 he was with World Carpet, first as a VP for the Northeast Region, then moving to Dalton, GA as VP of National Accounts…Abbey was one of his accounts.

Mr. Hardy joined Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. and Floors To Go in November 2007 as Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Member Services. Prior to joining Abbey Carpet Co., Inc., from 1988 until September 2007, Mr. Hardy held various positions with World Carpets, which was acquired by Mohawk Industries in 1998, including President of Customweave and Wundaweve and Senior Vice President of Fashion, with all such positions having been based in Dalton, Georgia.








Keith Johnson - Vice President of Merchandising

Mr. Johnson has been serving as Vice President of Merchandising at Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. and Floors To Go since December of 2022. Before joining the company, he had notable tenures at Mohawk Industries from 1989 until 2013, Invista/Stainmaster from 2013 until 2015 and Harris Flooring Group/QEP from 2015 until 2022.

During this time Mr. Johnson held multiple sales and operational leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Sales and Product at the Harris Flooring Group, Vice President of Sales and Export at Kraus Flooring and Senior Business Director of Mohawk Cushion. Mr. Johnson began his flooring career as a territory manager for Mohawk Industries in 1989, subsequently holding sales and sales management positions at regional, national and international levels.

Mr. Thompson has been employed by Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. and Floors To Go since January 2004. He became the Vice President of Merchandising in November 2006. From January 2004 to November 2006, Mr. Thompson was the Regional Vice President and Membership Manager for the Southeast region for Abbey Carpet Co., Inc. and Floors To Go.








Abbey Carpet started as a single floor covering store in Sacramento, California in 1958.
The owners realized in the early 60’s that there was a fairly new concept, “franchising.” Abbey became the first franchisor in the state of California, preceding even that little hamburger maker, McDonalds.

Abbey Carpet & Floor, along with Floors To Go, has expanded to over 800 showrooms and growing across North America.
